Due to the pandemic we have decided to open as a reduced market for now, allowing for social distancing between stalls. Whilst some of our wonderful stallholders are unable to join us right now we are delighted to showcase some of their work on our blog. Here is the talented Mary Thompson from Little Craft Company to tell us a bit about her business - Little Craft Company 2015.
“I have been running The Little Craft Company 2015 since moving to Clevedon five and a half years ago, and looking for something to keep me occupied in retirement.
I make and sell gifts, cards ,coasters, frames and all sorts of various items, some of which are upcycled, and mostly made using old maps of all types, Ordnance Survey, atlas and other brands. I also experiment with other recycled paper from books and magazines, creating greetings cards, decorated storage boxes and caddies, covered frames, bookmarks, keyrings etc.
I have sold my products at The Sunday Market on and off since it began, and also sell locally in The Pier gift shop (Covid has sadly closed this at present), and also in Eclectic Gift Shop in Hanham, I have also traded successfully at Nailsea market, Tickenham Village market, and Long Ashton market.
I can customise things such as coasters to cover favourite areas, and can do sets of four or single mats, the maps are decoupaged on and sealed with varnish, to give a wipe clean finish.
